How to Achieve True Healing with Acupuncture

Acupuncture has amazing healing benefits. It can facilitate recovery and provide relief from countless conditions and ailments, from pain to high blood pressure. For more information on how acupuncture accomplishes this, please read my previous blog post.

However, there is often a root, behavioral cause to these issues that acupuncture cannot address. For example, poor posture can lead to back or neck pain and an unhealthy diet can lead to high blood pressure. While acupuncture acts as a treatment for the resulting conditions that arise, true healing cannot be achieved without also correcting theĀ  causal behaviors. The symptoms will persist, causing frustration and even dependency on treatment for relief.

Acupuncture is one facet of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which embodies a holistic approach to healing. The body is considered as a whole, connected both physically and emotionally.

At Princeton Monroe Acupuncture, when patients receive treatment, I work with them to also diagnose and correct those underlying causes of their condition for longer lasting healing. Treatment is not limited to acupuncture and can include herbal or homeopathic medicine, aromatherapy and nutritional counseling. I also teach patients techniques to provide relief on their own.
